BACKGROUND
DiMeo was born in Boston, MA. She developed her first creative business when she was 5, making pillows and selling them door to door. She went on to study a multitude of artistic dsiciplines both here and abroad. The uniqueness of each medium informed her creativity and went into her “toolbox” for later use.
As her interest in art and commerce expanded, she began to explore global opportunities. In college she spent a year studying art history and politics at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen (Germany) and returned the following year to intern at the Deutsche Bundestag (Bonn). She earned degrees in international politics and in fine arts at UC Berkeley. Following her studies, DiMeo took a unique opportunity in the former USSR to help a non-profit organization develop educational programs. Her entrepreneurial skills, love of people and travel were put to use raising support for the venture and managing on-site programs.
After working abroad she returned to her studies earning an MFA at California College of the Arts. Throughout her education and in the years following she worked and exhibited internationally. The caliber of her work earned her prestigous artist residencies at the MacDowell Colony and Pilchuck Glass School, and exhibitions in museums around the country. Her work is in numerous private and corporate collections.
While walking the path of a professional artist, DiMeo's interest evolved beyond the exclusivity of the art world toward the more public world of design. Her wealth of knowledge about creative processes and practical applications in a business environment made the design field a perfect match for her talents. Her design career started in Boston with clients in the software, financial, retail and healthcare industries. She later moved to New York City and began working for international brands in the retail and pharmaceutical industries.
Inspired by the energy of the city and it's wealth of creativity, DiMeo now calls New York City home. Her design and art studios are located in Lower Manhattan.
